Uefa Champions League Draw : Arsenal in trouble as they get Barca
The Champions League last 16 draw has now taken place, and it threw up some interesting ties, especially for Arsenal, who will go up against defending champions FC Barcelona.
The Gunners have qualified for the knockout stages for the 16th consecutive season, but have also been eliminated in the round of 16 in the past five years in a row.
FC Barcelona, meanwhile, will be keen to become the first champions since the inception of the new format in 1992 to defend their title.
Juventus and Bayern Munich, two semi-finalists in last season's campaign, will meet in this early round already, while Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are set to do battle once again.
Overall, La Liga and the Premier League still have three teams in the competition. The Bundesliga has two representatives left, as many as the Serie A.
All of the previous four Champions League-winning teams are still in the competition – 2010 winners Inter Milan did not partake in this campaign's group stages, and 2008 champions Manchester United were knocked out.
Here is how the round of 16 draw has unfolded:
Paris Saint-Germain vs Chelsea
Gent vs Wolfsburg
Roma vs Real Madrid
Arsenal vs FC Barcelona
Juventus vs Bayern Munich
PSV vs Atletico Madrid
Benfica vs Zenit St Petersburg
Dynamo Kiev vs Manchester City
The first leg of the round of 16 ties will be played on 16/17 and 23/24 February, with the second legs taking place on 8/9 and 15/16 March.
