The French international had recently been courted by the Istanbul side, who were in search for a star-striker after selling Demba Ba to Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua in June.

Remy’s immediate future with the blues has become uncertain after the loan acquisition of Colombian striker Radamel Falcao put the former QPR and Newcastle player down in the pecking order for the central striker position.

It remains to be seen if Remy can inject fresh energy into his career having followed Ba’s footsteps from Newcastle to Chelsea and finally landing in Beşiktaş.

Working with a shoe-string of a budget and no home field due to the ongoing construction of a their new stadium, Beşiktaş had a commendable 2014-2015 season, making it to the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League, eliminating Liverpool on the way.

The Istanbul-side finished third in the domestic league after spending a majority of the season in close contention for the title.
