Chelsea beat Paris Saint Germain 6-5

Chelsea beat Paris Saint Germain 6-5 in a penalty shoot-out to win their International Champions Cup match in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Saturday.

The sides had drawn 1-1 after 90 minutes.

The last time the clubs met was in last season's Champions League, when Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent-off, but PSG went on to win on away goals.

And Ibrahimovic was at the centre of events again when he appeared to use his elbow when colliding with Chelsea captain John Terry after 21 minutes - the referee chose not to take any action.

But the Swede was to have a more positive effect on the game when he gave PSG the lead four minutes later - the striker was on hand to turn the ball in after a shot from Jean-Kevin Augustin hit the post.

Chelsea improved after the break and scored a deserved equaliser after 65 minutes when Cesc Fabregas picked out Victor Moses with a pin-point cross and the Nigeria winger applied a neat finish.

The match was also notable for the first appearance in a Chelsea shirt of Colombian striker Radamel Falcao who came on as substitute for Diego Costa after 70 minutes.

Falcao is on a season-long loan from French club Monaco.
With the match ending 1-1 after 90 minutes, penalties decided the winner and it was Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois who was the hero.

First, he saved from Brazil's Thiago Silva before stepping up to smash the winning kick past his opposite number Salvatore Sirigu to give Chelsea a 6-5 victory.
