Southampton ends Man United 10-match unbeaten run sent them to 4th place

Southampton ended Manchester United's 10-match unbeaten run on Sunday with a 1-0 victory that dislodged Louis van Gaal's side from third place in the Premier League.

Dusan Tadic clinched Southampton's first win at Old Trafford in 27 years in the 69th minute to strengthen the south-coast team's chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League for the first time.

Five minutes after coming off the bench, Tadic set up Graziano Pelle for a shot that hit the post.

Tadic was alert to send the rebound into the net with the game's only shot on target.

The Serbia midfielder did earn a booking for his celebration, taking off his shirt and flexing his muscles in front of the cameras.

Southampton are now two points ahead of fourth-placed United.

Southampton manager  Ronald Koeman said Wayne Rooney made their first half of the game more difficult with his movement.
"In the first half we had it more difficult than in the second half - it was about the movements of (Wayne) Rooney, he bring difficulties in our organisation, but they didn't create a lot about (i.e. from) that. I think the second half it was looking more comfortable in our positions. Little by little a little bit more ball possession. Good goal. And after that, okay, you know that when they put (Marouane) Fellaini in front they played the long ball then it's difficult. I think we defended well, the spirit was unbelievable from the players. And a little bit lucky, but remember the first game Man. United was the luckiest one, and maybe we now today. But if you finally win you deserve to win." ~  Ronald Koeman

Southampton manager Ronald said he was not surprise that they won the game because he knows his player well,
"I'm not surprised that we won today because I know the players, I know the organisation in the team - and we have eleven clean sheets now about (i.e. from) 21 games. I think if we keep this spirit, if we keep that we know each other and that we know what we have to do in our organisation then we can keep in front in the table, of course." ~ Koeman added
