Pre-match briefing: Crystal Palace v Chelsea
Following the international break, the Portuguese conducted his
pre-match press conference shortly after training at Cobham earlier
today, and began by reporting injury concerns over five of his players.
Chelsea Boss Jose Mourinho worried about his players injuries.
‘We have some problems, yes. Ramires, Drogba, Diego Costa, Schurrle, Mikel, it’s a long list.’ said Mourinho.
Mourinho said he don't speak with national team mangers only if they want to speak with him.
‘I don’t speak with national team managers unless they want to speak with me,’ he said. ‘I’m powerless (during the international break) and because I know that I don’t use my time contacting them.
‘During my career some of them, not many, but some, used to contact me to ask about the situation of our players but many don’t. When they contact me I’m always open about speaking with them. They have the power, we don’t have the power.’ He added
Chelsea will visit Crystal Placa on Saturday with five point clear at the top of EPL table.
Last season Crystal Palace got three point from chelsea, Mourinho believe Chelsea deserved the lost last season, He said Cystal Palace was better than Chelsea then but it won't be the same this time.
‘It was one of those games where we lost and deserved to lose,’ said Mourinho. ‘I know why we lost so there was no lesson to be learnt, I accepted it in a normal way and it’s easy for me to analyse those kind of matches.
‘We lost there last season because they were better than us in every aspect of the game.
‘This season we have more personality to impose our game. Sometimes you want to impose your style and sometimes you want to adapt to the opponents’ style. In their style, Palace are better than us so we have to play our own game.’ ~ Jose Mourinho
Palace manager Neil Warnock compared Mourinho to Brian Clough, and the Blues boss said there is no comparison between both players.
‘I obviously feel very flattered with his comments but I don’t think there is a comparison,’ said the Chelsea manager. ‘Mr Clough is a legend in English football; what he did, especially at Nottingham Forest, will be remembered forever.
‘It was a big loss for English football when he went so early but I’m nobody compared with him. If Neil said that, it makes me very proud, but the legacy of Mr Clough has no comparison.
‘Neil’s a great motivator; I was behind his dugout when he played the play-off final against Watford (in 2013), and I saw the way he feels the game, communicates, interacts with players.
‘If he does that during 90 minutes and in training he brings the best out of his players. Every football manager knows about the game, methodology and tactics, but they are not all strong in other areas. This area is a fundamental one and because of that he’s a good, difficult opponent.’ ~ said Chesea Manager
