NFF sacks coach Stephen Keshi

Finally the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has sacked Stephen Keshi, chief coach of the country’s national team.

 The decision was made on  Wednesday night by the executive committee of the  Nigeria Football Federation, at an emergency meeting in Abuja.

The sacked coach will  now be replaced by former Super Eagle coach  Shaibu Amodu for the remaining matches of the ongoing Africa Nations Cup Qualifier.


NFF have sent all Keshi coaching crew away including Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shoromu, they have been asked to go on a coaching course any where in the world sponsored by NFF,

The new interim coach Amodu Shuaibu  will be supported by Salisu Yusuf, Gbenga Ogunbote and Aloysius Agu. Garba Lawal, a former player will serve as the team ‘s 
coordinator.

NFF go hunting for a  foreign coach no name had been mentioned but as for today Amodu is now Nigeria National Team Coach.

Amodu as a caretaker coach, will take charge of the team for the last two matches in the qualifying round for the 2015 African Cup of Nations.

Amodu managed Nigeria from April 2001 to February 2002.
He was appointed Head Coach of the Nigerian national side in April 2008, and was sacked on 6 February 2010. Despite reaching third place with the national side in the 2010 African Cup of Nations, he was demoted to serve as the coach of the Nigerian B-team (Home-Based Eagles) and Lars Lagerbäck was installed in his place before the 2010 World Cup.

Amodu also led Nigeria to the AFCON bronze medal at Mali 2002 and Angola 2010. Other accomplishments include Nigerian FA Cup titles with BCC Lions of Gboko and El Kanemi Warriors on multiple occasions. He has also managed Shooting Stars, BCC Lions, Orlando Pirates and Sharks F.C.
Amodu was appointed technical director of Nigeria's national teams in May 2013. In November he was named Technical Director of Bendel Insurance F.C., which includes being in charge of the club's youth development.
