Manchester City reaction after 2-2 draw away to CSKA in Group E

Manchester City surrendered a two-goal lead as they again stuttered on the Champions League stage, drawing 2-2 amid more controversy at CSKA Moscow.

Pellegrini
"Well, of course I'm very disappointed, not because we were winning 2-0 at the end of the first half, but because we had three or four clear chances to score, so I think the first half was at the minimum three or four goals difference but football finishing minute 95 in the second half. Maybe it was so cold and we had an excess of trust that we allowed CSKA to grow and to draw finally the game."~ Pellegrini

City looked to have ignited their Group E campaign as they claimed a commanding lead with well-worked goals from Sergio Aguero and James Milner at the Khimki Arena.

But CSKA hit back through Seydou Doumbia and a contentious late Bebras Natcho penalty.

"Well ,we tried to close the game, but we couldn't. I repeat - it's not an easy team, CSKA has very good players, they didn't have any clear chance to score until they scored the first goal. It's an important, we lost two important points for the future, but we have nine points more to play so I hope we can reach the qualifying to next stage."

The game was played behind closed doors after UEFA punished the Russian club for repeated racist offences by their fans.

Three sides of the ground were closed but 650 people were allowed entry. As the game kicked off and CSKA chants broke out, it soon became apparent that a significant number of those admitted were fans.
