Panathinaikos grabbed a share of top spot in the Greek Super League, courtesy of Sunday's (28th September) 1-0 win over Niki Volos.

Played four - lost four coming into this game, Niki Volos were outclassed by not embarrassed by Panathinaikos on Sunday.

Just 30 per cent possession in the first half for Sven Vandenbroeck's men - but they went into the interval trailing by a just a solitary goal.

A fine one it was too, scored in the 42nd minute by 21-year-old Nigerian midfielder Abdul Ajagun.

The visitor's cause was not helped by the dismissal of Nikos Argiriou in the 84th minute - he had picked up a first yellow card just over a minute prior to this.

The statistics were unequivocal - by the end of the game, Giannis Anastasiou's men had 24 attempts on goal compared to just three for Niki Volos.

But Panathinaikos had to be content with a 1-0 win - one which takes them level on 10 points with Atromitos, PAOK and Olympiakos at the top.
