Manchester United got their second victory under Louis van Gaal.

Manu Vs West Ham
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal reacted to his team's 2-1 English Premier League win over West Ham on Saturday (27 September).

"I am very pleased with the attitude of my players because they have fought to the end. I said after the match to them that 'you shall all be rewarded for a very good result'." van Gaal

Captain Wayne Rooney was sent off after scoring, but 10-man Manchester United clung on to beat West Ham 2-1 in the English Premier League on Saturday.

Rooney told Van Gaal that he wanted to do it but the Manager never understood him.
"Yes, but he wanted to do that. He wanted to do it, I don't know, he has to explain it. He said to me he wanted to do that. You are right, you are right, I have seen that also, but you cannot change it any more. This was a great miss because he played very well. I was very pleased with him, he scored a goal." van Gaal
It was just United's second victory in seven matches under Louis van Gaal.

It had started well for Rooney when he put United in front after five minutes with a deft volley, but he earned his marching orders in the 59th minute for kicking out at Stewart Downing.

Robin van Persie scored United's second in the 22nd minute with his 50th goal for the club, but West Ham pulled one back before half-time through Diafra Sakho's header.
