A stoppage-time goal gave Laurent Depoitre 1-1 draw against Lokeren

A stoppage-time goal from Laurent Depoitre saw Gent snatch a 1-1 draw in their Belgian Prop League match with Lokeren on Sunday (28th September).

It was second against fourth in the Belgium league on Sunday when Gent hosted Lokeren.
A win for the hosts could have seen them close the gap on league leaders Anderlecht to just two points, while with just six points separating the second and 12th-placed clubs, a win from Lokeren would see them move up to second place.

The hosts seemed to have the better of the opening exchanges and came close to taking the lead midway through the first half.

A sweeping move created space in the Lokeren defence, and a swift one two between Laurent Depoitre and Danijel Milicevic almost gave them the opening score, only for Depoitre to send his shot agonisingly wide of the post.

Lokeren were the more clinical when rare chances came their way, and took the lead in the 32nd minute.

Turning defence into attack, they put plenty of pace into the game and Hans Vanaken provided the finish to a Nill De Pauw cross.

Early in the second half, Gent came close to equalising minutes into the second half.

But Danijel Milicevic's well stuck free kick was just pushed wide by visiting goalkeeper Boubacar Barry.

Time seemed to have run out for the hosts as the match entered stoppage-time.

But a planned move from a Milicevic free-kick saw them snatch an equaliser - Depoitre heading the ball home, despite the attention of four defenders for the match to finish 1-1.
